Well friends, this is it. I’ve jumped feet first into this new adventure and many of you grabbed my hand and took the plunge with me.
On September, 22nd, 2013, Lancaster Transplant was officially born. Sporting a new logo and a generous energy, we hosted our first event. Friends, family, Transplants and Locals alike, they all came to partake in the celebration. The evening was such a success, it was hard to believe. There was a house filled with new and interesting people. There were homemade treats and a playlist crafted with love. There was conversation late into the night and connections made. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it couldn’t have been much better. I thought to myself, “I have no idea what I have started, I have no idea where this is going. But I can’t shake the feeling I’ve done something good.”
Every attendee had something to share and an excitement that could not be contained. Ole captured my energy with this amazing polaroid, hoping to start this adventure off with a positive vibe. He sat me down, thoughtfully laying out his shot. And it captured the moment, perfectly.

It was incredible to see people as excited as I am about living in Lancaster, about meeting people and having a forum to do so. The point of this all is to build a community. One that is interesting, loving and exciting. There will always be a reason to come together, to share stories, ideas, tastes, music and this vibrant city. We will take bike rides together, make beautiful things together, get to know one another, and simply be, here, in Lancaster, PA.
For those of you unable to join us, don’t fret, there is so much more to come.
And for those of you who were there, THANK YOU. Diane, John, Alaina, I could have never done this without you.
I’m looking forward to this, my friends, and I’m happy you’re right there with me. We’ve built something together, now let’s watch it grow.
Until next time.
